Donatelle & Co. is a Portland, Maine based company dedicated to the design and production of handmade furniture. Passionate about traditional methods and hand selected materials, each piece begins as rough sawn timber and enters your home as refined, heirloom quality furniture. Our designs are meant to invoke a sense of tradition as well as contemporary and modern styles. We aim to create pieces that will have a lasting place in your home. 

As a brand we are inspired by the energy created when people come together. We work closely with a variety of clients and are committed to helping projects of all sizes come to life.

Alexander Donatelle - Founder

What started off as my hobby quickly grew into my passion. I have been lucky enough to start a company where craftsmanship, functionality, and creativity can coexist in the same environment.

I grew up watching both my grandfather and father work with tools. They weren’t woodworkers, per-se, but they had a “do-it-yourself” mentality. My grandfather taught my dad that life is full of challenges, and it’s better to face them head-on. With that in mind and as a fresh graduate of Bates College, I set off on my own venture.

Along the way, I’ve learned that with each challenge, each failure, and each success comes an extremely rewarding sense of gratitude, toward the people I meet, the craft I get to practice, and the knowledge that was instilled in me.

My hope is to elevate your experience by establishing a good relationship and providing you with quality designs. I look forward to collaborating on the next project and creating a piece uniquely suited to you.
